I've been discussing this with one of my friends. He he said he has a vague feeling that the A600 has some advanced graphics modes which are higher resolution or higher frequency than the standard TV modes supported on the A500, and the direct SCART solution probably won't work for those. Is this true? Can someone comment on this?

yes, A600 has ECS chipset which supports some VGA compatible screenmodes. You can not view them on a standard TV, but you can use them on a VGA compatible display (LCD). However, for most purposes they are unused, I mean games, demos etc only use TV compatible screenmodes. You can use the ECS screenmodes in workbench, they're good for that but the productivity color depth was limited to 4 AFAIR.
