That's not entirely true. MMC64 can't do true 1541 emulation. But it is the best option IMHO. You can mount d64 files virtually, and use them, as long as they don't do 1541 specific stuff. Also you can run all single part programs directly, use it as a sid player, have limited d64 mounting options, full d64 reading/writing support with a 1541 and some mmc64 specific demos (dreamloader stuff). I can definitely recommend.
