About your choices for linux, basicly you have two choices. You can run linux-68k, which needs MMU (68030 or upper recommended) or linux-ppc, if you fit a ppc card to your high-end amiga. As far as I know, linux ppc is much more compatible than linux-68k, but I haven't run any of them, so don't take my word on this.
