Only the A500 plus has a battery on the motherboard.
 
The A500 has it's own kickstart roms. Checkout Amigakit.com or Vesalia.de.
 
I suppose the wb copy of Amigaforever would work. Dunno if it would be legal to do that though.

It doesnt. You manually have to re-enter the date and time. Or buy a (secondhand)hardware solution.
