Robbery, anyone? Little brown mouse that collects fruit????
« on: April 01, 2005, 04:17:03 PM »
Firstly, thanks to everyone who helped with the Parasol Stars thing, I have now managed to buy a copy of it 2nd hand!!!!!!!!!

Secondly, when I was a kid back in the 80's I had a copied game (in fact I had many copied games coz my uncle who gave me the A500 was a very naughty man!) that had 'Robbery' as the name of the game on the label, and I beleive that was what it was really called, but it had a cute little brown mouse that had to collect fruit (each level had a different type of fruit, but each level had only one type of fruit, it had cherries for level one) and once all the fruit had been collected you had to get a key, go to the door and ge to the next level.  If you had performed pretty well in way of time taken to complete the level, you would be offered two keys, the simple bronze coloured one that led to the next level and then an ornate key that was gold and had jewels on it which would take you to a bonus round that would be brightly coloured flowers that you had to collect.  Obviously flowers and fruit where worth points, and you only got so many seconds to complete the bonus round so you often didn't get to eat all the flowers.

Does anyone know:

A) What I am banging on about
B) If Robbery was this games real name
C) If they have a working copy they are willing to sell, or can give me a UK based website that may have one to sell

(have tried retro-games.co.uk and amigadeals.co.uk with no joy)

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi there Seer

No thats not it, it was just 'Robbery' and definately a little mouse!!!!  Like a cutesy paltform game?  (I was only 8!)  But it was a cool game (at least in my distant memory!)

Thanks anyway though, and for the email advice!  Could you perhaps remove the email link you have in your post to my address then if your keen to protect my inbox?!

Thank you!!!

Thank you for that Seer!!  Didn't mean to sound cheeky or anything, just been under the weather and

a)  Didn't think about potential consequences of putting emaikl address on public forum and

b) after re-reading what I wrote back to you, I have realised it sounded quite rude, or could have been perceived as so.  SORRY!!

I cannot access the website that your link leads to at present because it is offline, but I will have a go later on today!!

It was/is brilliant, isn't it?!!

Thank you for that, you will be right about the name, I was only a kid at the time and can only remember snatches of gaming childhood!!!

You have a version that works on the A500 you would let me have if you get your NTSC version working??  Oh, that is sooo nice of you!!  How kind are you?  Of course, I might have had more chance of finding it if I was actually putting the correct name in various search engines!!!!

Thanks for the info and offer, let me know if I can have the pal version!!

Its kind of mild here, but I still feel ill so I'm a bit shivery!!

Sorry you have to work when you have such good weather!  Its Saturday, tell your boss you shouldn't be working Saturday's, especially ones when it is nice weather!!!

I don't think I need little blue pills, I am mad enough as it is!!!!!  I get many offer's for Viagra at my work email address....not sure why!!!!!!!!!!

The game was Robbeary, and it was a bear not a mouse, but like I said, I was only 8 so I can't remember everything!!  And when  I looked at it, it still looks like a mouse to me!!!

Maybe I should go get my eyes tested.

No. I know the second link was not Robbeary, but I just wanted to see what used to p*** you off!!!!  see if we had it and if it had bugged me too!  (V nosy, you see!)

I don't suppose you will (in your great expansive Amiga-based knowledge) know the game that was a ball that you had to manouvere to collect (I think) little blue dots/balls (like the size of a pac-dot?  only blue????!!)  and it was quite difficult once it got momentum on the level and would often fall over the edge, which is obviously when you died!!!  If it ran into a 'baddie' it sort of disintegrated before your eyes?  I cannot remember that much about it, certainly not the name, just that it used to frustrate the life out of me!!!!!!!1

It was like that kind of set-up though; the graphics and the actual layout and design of the levels atre virtually identical to the game I used to have, but I am sure there awere things you had to collect??!!  Thanks for all you help anyway!!

Don't you EVER get a break??  Over here, people get into trouble for working over 48 hours a week, we have to stick to the Working Time Directive and if you do exceed 90 or so hours in any 2 week period, you have to have sufficient time off to make it as though you only worked 9 hours a day for every week you worked!!

Well, I am off to do more online retro games shopping!!!  Hope you don't have to work too hard!
