@A4000_Mad

Personally I had several failures for different reasons.
(1)Make sure you are running current versions (obviously)
(2)Be sure to use native jpeg.library on OS4depot as stated
(3)Do NOT use WOS versions or powerpc.library from OS4 updates#3 and #4. You will get conflicts.
(4)Remember that not all files are included on CD and OS4depot, as mentioned above is a good place to check for native files, to replace 68k versions that may be troublesome. Aminet is fine for this research too, but I can not guarantee all PPC files from OS4depot are on Aminet. Still other PPC files are only available from author's websites. Wish it wasn't this way for convenience sake, but..such is life.
(5)Snoopdos is not recommended under OS4 for reasons Tetisoft can better explain, but you CAN try it to check resources not found. Not infallible by any means, but worth a shot. Do not try to change prefs. It will crash. (known problem)
(6)Ranger (by ssolie) on OS4depot is a better choice than Scout for accuracy and what it covers. Currently, it's one of the best diagnostic tools the average user has for OS4.
(7)I have also seen a corrupted prefs file cause a fatal error in picshow, so it's always worth checking as last resort and deleting and creating a new one.

Let us know please if any of this helps.
