Re: maybe new boards
« on: August 19, 2003, 09:32:16 AM »
Wow I had no idea these boards were still around.  I tried looking on ebay for them from time to time.  At the time these were avalible I was waiting for the BoXeR or maybe an A/Box (or PreBox) Anyone remember these??

I had a dream of putting two of these Access machines side by side linked via Ethernet with some sort of RTG sysyem, one could handle the GFX and the other do AHI 14 bit Paula sound, I/O etc.  Or even better play games of Super Skidmarks in "dual head", get two 4-player adapters and race eight of your friends.  That could of been a killer console with a killer app.

Can anyone post some dimensions, this might be a better option than a CD32 for a laptop conversion.  Yes I'm still going on about that laptop!

It may be less expandable, but it does have Ethernet, which gives it good network potential.

It is 30 cm deep which means it would definately get in the way of a PSU, so you would probably need the lower of 4 5 1/4'' drive bays to find space for it.

I'm torn between trying to get hold of one of these or a CD32.  The Ethernet might just swing it for me (although it is a bit longer and may not fit the laptop case I had planned!)
