I don't own an A1200 myself, so, I maybe wrong, but... It's my understanding that the A1200 supports upto two IDE devices out of the box. The card from Eyetech allows you to support upto four IDE devices.
Yes, you'll need AmiCDFS (or some other CD filesystem, i.e. AsimCDFS (abandonned), CacheCDFS (abandonned), or AllegorCDFS (still alive?)) in order to read CD-ROM's your Amiga.
As for towering your Amiga, you can get kits from various Amiga vendors that include keyboard adapters, PSU conversions, and even PCI busboards. The only problem is they're pretty expensive. If you look on
Aminet , you can also find some instructions for DIY conversions for 'PC' tower cases... Of course this implies you'll have to purchase (or build) a keyboard adpater and PSU conversion.
