Sensible Soccer jerks
« on: March 10, 2006, 04:06:12 PM »
For some reason, no matter which version of Sensible Soccer I try and run on my Amiga (from the original right up to SWOS 96/97) it jerks like mad when I'm playing a game. Sometimes it's even unplayable.

I've tried running it direct from floppy as well as installing it on the hard drive but it's always the same.

My Amiga is a 3.1 A1200 with a 3GB hard drive, PCMCIA wireless NIC and a Taifun 1230 expansion (http://www.amiga-hardware.com/showhardware.cgi?HARDID=116).

Has anyone else had this problem? It works fine in UAE but not on my actual Amiga which is strange. I'm resorting to playing it in WinUAEx on the Xbox at the minute :)

Have you tried a floppy version without the accelerator?

I would try it without the accelerator board on if I could but I don't know how to switch it off and I really don't fancy taking it out of the A1200. Especially considering everything was installed using 3.1 and I don't reckon it would take kindly to being switched back down to 3.0.

I would have thought that booting the game from floppy wouldn't take the accelerator into account but it doesn't play well from floppy either.

Does anyone have any idea how I could switch it off?
