Trying to return to the Amiga after many years away!
« on: February 20, 2005, 02:02:12 AM »
Hi, After being out of the Amiga scene for many years I have decided that I would like to try and get back into the Amiga's.

I had Amigas for many years and used them for alot of TV work and Animation at the time, I spent hours designing graphics for games and demos.  I ended up selling all my miggy stuff to fund my first PC and the required software to move me forward in my animation and graphics career.  Well after a while it changed and I became an IT techy and started to run my own company ...In the years since I have always thought about getting a new miggy something like an A4000 but I really would like to go down one of the newer machine routes.

So if anyone has any info or tips of what to look for then great.  I also collect old computers and consoles, Hence the name retronerd....My friends and family think I am nuts as I  have the stuff all over the place. :D I dont care....

I look forward to seeing and talking to you all and hope that this is a happy forum.

Many ways of helping....cool, its nice to see people that know their stuff.  After many years using building and running PC equipment I am used to the faster line of machines.  My machine I use at the momemnt is a little beast in its own right but just to have a nice fast Amiga would be even better.  I will be looking into the Pegasus I think, although I will really do a lot of research before spending the cash on something that could be a wrong choice...

I do like the idea og the 1ghz G4 :) that really is swaying me towards it.

The main problem I might have is the OS, I have only ever used  Workbench 1.2,1.3,2.0, and 3.1 but none of the newer ones.  I have winaue and fellows running at the moment with 3.1 on the Virtual HD....I took me a while to remember how to install a hd on a miggy but once I started it all came back very quickly.

But thanks to you all for your kind responses.
