AExplorer TCP Mode Problem.
« on: March 07, 2005, 09:06:48 PM »
Hello,

I try to use AExplorer in TCP mode between my PC and my Amiga 1200 with a 3Com PCMCIA NIC, I have OS3.9 Genesis installed and working fine, I can connect to the internet via my router and ping any machines on my network.

When I start AExplorer on my PC I got an error from Genesis telling me that "connection from a host 192... on port 356 (If I remember correctly) access denied." So how to give access to host PC in Genesis?

It's working! I was looking everywhere on the net for a solution but obviously not at the right place ;-) I added the line to inet.accces file to allow connection on port 356 and it works! It's so much better that way with AExplorer, the serial link was "painfully" too slow.

Thank you very much!

Now, the problem I have is with my DKB 1202 with 2x 4MB simms. When you have more than 5.5MB of ram the pcmcia port is disabled so I have to remove 1 simm and I'm stuck only with 4MB, it's not enough when you see Genesis eating your memory when it starts.

According to www.amiga-hardware.com the expension card came with a software call MagicMem that let you add 1.5MB of the second 4MB simm when PCMCIA card is detected fot a total of 5.5MB, well, still not enough but better than nothing.

Anyone know where I can find this software? I search Aminet but found nothing.

Thank you.
