Hi All,

I have a CSPPC 060/233 card where the PPC side does not work, but the 060 works flawlessly.  My A4000 won't boot up when I install more than one SIMM module on the card.

Any ideas?

@Marien have you had a chance to chat your friend from Czech Republic if he can repair these boards?

Cheers,
Chris

I'm surprised it works at all with only one simm - memory on the CSPPC has to be installed in pairs.

Could be a broken address/CAS/RAS line, dying CPLD, non-working transceiver, etc, etc. the memory issue may be totally unrelated to the dead/dying PPC side, or it may be part of the same problem.

IME Amigacentre do some basic checks - testing the oscillators, flashrom and large capacitors, testing that the clock signal is reaching the 060.
50Euro postage is a bit steep imho, a bit cheeky to charge that much when offering supposedly "free" diagnostics.

Have never had a personal problem with JJB though - he was happy to answer questions about the diagnostics which he had performed.
