I might add, that I see the pot mothers actions as no different than the French drinking wine with their teenage kids.

i see no difference as well as i was brought up with the belief that you don't do that either. well except for cough syrup. lemon, sugar, and jack daniels sure gets rid of a cough. one teaspoon of that stuff and it is hard to breathe afterwards. i hated to take that for coughs.

I think he means that alcohol is generally addictive. You might not be addicted, you might not know anybody that is, but the fact remains that there are many people who are as dependent on alcohol as others are opiates etc.

alcoholism does not run in my family it practically gallups. alcohol is a pet peave of mine since most of my(non-immediate) family is alcoholics. i have had 2 uncles killed because they were drunk. 1 drunk driving(took on a semi with a ranger pickup), 1 burned down his trailer while drunk(he was burned alive.) i have 3 uncles left(possibly more)who are alcoholics to this day. as such i have vowed not to touch the stuff.

imo anything that impairs your judgement is a bad thing. it is especially bad to a developing mind like a child. if the adult wanted to do marajuana then fine but the child should never be exposed to this at all.

ymmv
