That font is Topaz. It is the standard font built in to AmigaOS 2 and above.
Sam460ex: PPC460ex/1GHz, 2GB RAM, 30GB SSD via on-board SATA-2, DVD-RW via USB, Radeon 5450 1GB PCIe, Catweasel Mk4 PCI, A4000 KB and Competition Pro CD32 Pad.
A4000D: 030/25MHz, 16MB RAM, Indivision Mk1, 8GB CF as HDD and IDE CD-ROM.

Why yes, you're right. It's a serif font. It was the 'A' that made me sure it was Topaz.

If the font was 'custom' for the app then the chances of ID'ing it go down greatly.

What is the name of the app? It would help in finding the name of the font.

Just had a look, Topaz/11 is the same style as in the shot Piru posted, of course, 3 points larger.  :-)
