Voodoo, Picasso96 and Mediator question
« on: August 09, 2007, 06:24:08 PM »
Ran into a problem with P96Mode when trying to install my Voodoo card.

Picasso96 is installed as Voodoo.card has been moved to SYS:Libs/Picasso96/ drawer along with Cvision3D renamed to Voodoo in SYS:Devs/Monitors/ drawer.

Problem is the Voodoo wont show up in P96Mode when I choose "Attach setting to" for the new entry. Any idea whots wrong?

BOARDTYPE=Voodoo

has been set in the Voodoo monitor file.

Cant figure out what the Elbox guys mean with "Click to the Voodoo icon (in Devs:Monitors drawer).". Apparently something you should do just before P96Mode is started.

Hi guys! Thanks for all your help... This is what i've came up with so far:

-Make sure no other files reside in DEVS:Monitors. Only Voodoo should be there.
Theres a PAL, PAL.info file there too. Should it be removed?

-Make sure voodoo.card is in LIBS:Picasso96
Its there

-Make sure pci.library is in LIBS:
Its there too

-run pciinfo from shell to make sure the voodoo card shows up. If not, re-seat the card and/or use a different PCI slot.
The Voodoo card is detected by pciinfo:

4.Ram Disk:> pciinfo

Pci Device 1:
   VendorID: $121a
   VendorName: 3dfx Interactive Inc
   DeviceID: $9
   DeviceName: Voodoo5
   ClassCode: $30000
   RevisionID: $1
   InterruptPin: 2
   SubsystemVendorID: $121a
   SubsystemID: $3
   MemSpace0: $50000000 - $53ffffff
   MemSpace1: $58000000 - $5fffffff
   IOSpace2: $40c06000 - $40c060ff
   RomSpace: $54000000 - $5400ffff

-As already mentioned, start the driver by double-clicking voodoo icon before starting P96mode.
Okay

-If all else fails, try disabling "loadmondrvs" from the startup-sequence, and uncomment the commands of the default routine to start the display driver. Try this LAST, only if none of the above fix it.
Okay, will try this out later.

-Have you got Picasso96Settings installed in the path linked to in the Voodoo monitor driver?
I guess this is the default path to the picasso96 settings file. Yes, its there in SYS:Devs/, as specified in the Voodoo.info file. Assigns are correct too since i can cd to SYS:Devs.
