First of all what version of AOS are you using? OS 3.5+ comes with a CD-filesystem wich lets you read CD's.
HDToolBox will let you see the CD-whatever.
MakeCD can be used to burn CD's. It's a good program. Other good alternatives are Fryingpan and BurnIT 3.0. The latter are not available yet.
