In definately interested.

I can code in blitz/amiblitz, and AMOS (its better than its reputation in the right hands, and a heck of a lot of fun), and a little c and c++ (although most of the amiga c/c++ Ive done has been porting open source software, which is a different kettle of fish than writing from ground up).

Ive also been a musician for a little over 20 years, and although my amiga games music experience is limited Im sure I can contribute here too.
Graphics are also something Im interested in. I started hand pixelling back in the c64 days, and although I stopped for a few years here and there am sure I can contribute there as well. Ive also done a little 3d stuff, firt with imagine, then a little lightware, and more recently have started coming to grips with 3ds max through university.

Ive tried over the last years to make some decent quality classic amiga games, but having to do everything yourself takes time, and with my lack or organisation I tend to become distracted and lose motivation. With others involved, and seeing other peoples work and combined results coming together more quickly makes it easier to keep motivated  :)

My two suggestions though would to make sure the projects have some semblence of organisation, and to make sure people have an interest in the particular bit of software theyre working on. When there's no money involved it's not easy to keep inspired working on something you dont enjoy or have no real interest in.
Near as I can tell this is where I write something under the guise of being innocuous, but really its a pot shot at another persons/peoples choice of Amiga based systems. Unfortunately only I cant see how transparent and petty it makes me look.

A strategy style game doesnt rely on frame rates being anything like that of an arcade style game, they can get away with lower framerates without effecting gameplay. No need to split second timing or collision detection, moving graphics dont need to be updated nearly as often (and dont effect gameplay with lower framerates).

Something like Zool, a 2d shooter, a fighting game, etc. benefit much more from 1/50th of a second updates much more than a strategy game, where framerates can drop much lower without effecting gameplay at all.

Choice of language isnt really important to begin with.
Best results can be obtained by people using what they know best. ASM isnt going to be a better choice than even AMOS if someone can only code in AMOS. In fact this very thread has made me want to use AMOS, just to prove a point :)

What is most important for now is that people are dedicated and see thier efforts through to the end.

Firstly, this came out of nowhere. People have real lives and not everyone is able to drop everything instantly becuae you want them to. Give them time, and once the dust settles and people actually have time to focus on thier hobbies you might find those interested will start joining in more.
Secondly, complaining in every 2nd post, both here and on the actual site about people refusing to be slaves to you isnt the best way to keep people interested.

Thirdly, a word of warning to anyone considering joining,... if you have your own projects youd like to do outside of this apparent dictatorship, simply dont join.
I spent the best part of a week working many hours a day on a simple puzzle game to try to get the creative juices flowing again, as a precursor to a bigger project I want to create. I looked for some outside help so I'd have a ready made project to contribute (as he himself mentioned many times there's little activity with amitens project and I wanted help, so looked elsewhere for now).
This small game is now close to complete, so I went to amiten's website today to hand over my work only to find out that because I looked elsewhere for help Im now banned from amiten's project (I received an email to this effect, Im not just assuming).

Could just be me, but this seems kinda f@cked up.... no actual finished products yet and its already starting to have a bit of an odour to it.
Guess I'll have to start a competeing project.

@Amiten

Firstly, I dont seem to recall any mention in the terms and conditions that working on your own projects with outside help wasnt allowed.
Additionally,.... people like me? As in people who have actually produced something since your project started, as opposed to a bunch of wishful thinking and complaining. Yeah, I can see why that'd be a problem...

I used the site, saw there was nothng other than talk and whining going on there so thought better of it.........
Also, glory? What glory do you even think youre talking about?

Additionally, just because a person says theyre interested in helping doesnt mean straight away, nor should it mean any sort of exclusiveness.

I wish you luck, but personally Im glad things have turned out this way. At least now I understand the working conditions and know there's no way I could work with you.
