Looking for Wazp3d v49
« on: September 21, 2011, 09:47:11 AM »
I guess the thread title covers it.

Ive accidently over written v49 of wazp3d with v50 when downloading new version a few days ago, but unfortunately v50 doesnt work nearly as well for me on my amithlon box, either in terms of speed or rendering quality. If anyone could provide me with a working link of v49 Id be very greatful.

Thanks in advance.
Near as I can tell this is where I write something under the guise of being innocuous, but really its a pot shot at another persons/peoples choice of Amiga based systems. Unfortunately only I cant see how transparent and petty it makes me look.

@Templario

Id very much appreciate that. Thank you.

@woof

I guess my choice of words wasnt great, but basically with v50 I get a heavily flickering image, redraws seem noticable, but on a diagonal from top left to bottom right (does this make sense)? V49 worked very nicely for me, with no such problems.
I also noticed that the prefernce options have changed. I cant recall what the option was called, but there used to be something to the effect of "use video ram directly". Unselectig this made a huge difference in performance for me (possibly because of modest ram speed on matrox g550+pci bus vs. dual channel ddr2 1066?).
This option no longer appears to be there, or at least is possibly renamed and placed elsewhere?

Id be greatful for any help you could give me for fine tuning wazp3d. Besides my current problems with v50 Ive really enjoyed using it and am quite impressed at the speed for software rendering with eye candy enabled (mipmapping, anti aliasing, image filters, etc.).

Thanks for your work and feel free to ask if there's anything I can do to help you bugfix it for a purely cpu rendered machine.

Ah, thank you for that. Not only has it sped things up, but it has also come close to fixing the image problems. I'll do a little more experimenting and let you know how I go and whether or not I still want v49. Despite a few extra gfx problems I have noticed stability appears to have increased. Payback used to crash quite often for me, which no longer appears the case.

Thanks again :)
