AROS runs in most virtualisers, although qemu+virtualiser accelerator or virtualbox have the best support (networking + sound). It also works in virtual pc and vmware, the latter of which even had gfx driver support besides vesa modes (which unfortunately has been broken for a while. No sure if they broke because of aros advancements or things changing under the hood of vmware itself(vmware gfx drivers I mean, not vesa)).

While it works fine, I personally would only opt that that route if it's someones only option, or if they're unwilling to, or not interested enough to use it natively. It's a considerably slicker experience running natively on a machine with full support and a little more stable. Still works decently though.

Near as I can tell this is where I write something under the guise of being innocuous, but really its a pot shot at another persons/peoples choice of Amiga based systems. Unfortunately only I cant see how transparent and petty it makes me look.

Actually I must admit, while definately not optimal, the aros vesa drivers are surprisingly decent for vesa. It's like chalk and cheese compared to most systems running on Vesa. Is quite possible to run 720p video fine for example. Not as good as native drivers obviously, but still not too bad. Being unable to change resolutions without rebooting seems to be most peoples biggest qualm when using Vesa.
