If memory serves me correctly setting chipram to beyond 2meg will make it so you cant assign any fast ram. You can however still set z3 fast ram to as high as you like regardless of the amount of chipram. You may need to manually alter your config file if HiToro doesnt have an option for zorro3 fast ram. Havent used it for a while, but I think its set with "z3mem_size=32" (or replace 32 with the amount of fast ram you want to assign (and no quotes)).
Near as I can tell this is where I write something under the guise of being innocuous, but really its a pot shot at another persons/peoples choice of Amiga based systems. Unfortunately only I cant see how transparent and petty it makes me look.

It's a technical restriction, but not an issue as you can use zorro3 fast ram anyway, and as far as the "amiga" is concerned pretty much the same thing. As for your problem, Im a little confused. Firstly there is no resolution above 800x600 for AGA (unless youve made custom screenmodes) and in fact there's not even an 800x600. Only 640x512 or 1280x512 come close to those, and both of those can be used in any color depth, apart from 1280x512, which cant use Ham8, and thats only if using the default 2 meg chipram. Having said that though, page size can be bigger than screen resolution. Are you using custom chipset graphic modes, or RTG ? If youre using RTG (uaegfx) then you need to add some RTG memory. Just out of interest, how big is the image youre trying to load into Dpaint, and how many colors are you trying to view it in.
