How to get the most memory out of an A500

What is the best combination of memory I get get for my A500 in order to get most out of it. The memory expansion slot underneath can take a max of 1MB of Chip ram extra. I have seen a expansion for an Amiga 500+ that can add an extra 1MB to a total of 2MB chip ram. If I use the side expansion I can add another 8MB externally?

Any thoughts?
