I once attended a party, The Computer Crossroad I believe, in Gothenburg Sweden, 93 or 94.
Initially I was supposed to go with my best friend, but my parents were not too happy about me being in the town over night I told my friend I could not attend.

Then my parents changed their mind, so I called him and his mother said he'd gotten to town.
As I was assuming he was where I thought he was I went to that party, but minutes turned into hours, and hours into the next day and I never saw my friend. When I got home I talked to him only to find out he was in cinema with a female friend.

Oh did I write I had no computer (my A500) with me so I was bored the entire night ?

Your friend ditched you and a scene party for a girl??  Some friend!

Well, it was both mine and my parents faults. I told him my parents aren't too happy about me spending the night in town (they probably thought we would get in, or cause, trouble instead of really be were we claimed we would be) so I could/would not attend. Since he would then be alone at the party he decided to go to the movies with a female friend (it was not a date, just friendly company). And since all the information I got from his mother when I called back later before the party was that he had went to town (and cell phones at that time were nothing more than science fiction) I assumed he went to the party anyway. So one idiotic decision lead to the other and suddenly I was Bart Simpson in a canceled episode !
