I have noticed that my friend's cable system seems faster than my DSL setup, but, on cable you can't run servers and often you can't get static IPs either, unless you do NAT and have a subnet in your house, just an FYI.
And about the only companies that outdo the phone companies for lousy service and price gouging are, you guessed it, cable companies. Which is another reason why I'll never use them.
