68060 3000 Tips Needed
« on: December 03, 2005, 03:09:26 AM »
I'm still interested in any tips anyone has in making more stabil the operation of an MKII in a 3000. I get GURUs off and on using this machine and I suppose its older software that hasen't been upgraded over the years.

Any tips are appreciated and the ones I've already gotten are well noted.

Thanks

3000 motherboard with normal older chipset. No new chips that I know of. older 1 gig segate on the motherboard SCSI, a SCSI CD, SCSI Zip and an oder 10 gig full width drive on the external connection. Not using the MKII Scsi,

2 simms that add up to ~76 meg. 3.9 installed, Picasso II. C= 2065, ADSL internet connection.

Do you have a heatsink on your 060 or should I have one?

GURUs are variable and eratic. No a real serious problem. I am runing Executive which might be a mistake,

Alway wondering. I'm pretty happy with the way it works just some nags.

Thanks for the note

I can kill executive no problem. The 68060 is in an MKII, it gets too hot to touch which is not really that hot for electronic parts. I don't have a heatsink so I should get something for it.

I'm wondering about pulling the zips. That might be a good idea from the heat and power standpoint.
