I am thinking of buying a 10MHz 68010 CPU to upgrade my CDTV and would like to know which software and games will break and quit working if I decide to do this upgrade.

I am also adding a DKB MegaChip 2mb Chip RAM upgrade, Kickstart switcher with 1.3 and 3.1 Kickstart ROMs (I have the developer Flash ROM board to load the correct PROM images to enable using later Kickstart images, so I don't need to buy and install new 2.3 PROMs) and adding a hard drive via the SCSI adapter/controller in the expansion slot.  Maybe an IndivisionECS in the future too, but for now I have plenty 1084 & 1080 CRT monitors that still work well, so there is no hurry to get the IndivisionECS installed (though I might buy it to make sure they don't go out of production before I get an extra for this CDTV project.)  I also might install an AdIDE and IDE to CF adapter & CF card to use instead of trying to fit an internal SCSI hard drive, or find a rare 2.5" laptop SCSI drive.  I already have a ZIP optical drive connected to the external SCSI port.

So, if any of you remember which software and games were not compatible with the 68010, please let me know.  I am hoping the list is a short one, as there are not many options for CDTV acceleration (at least one's that fit under the stock case).

I have a 50MHz Derringer w/FPU & 16mb, or 32mb of Fast RAM that could be used, but that will definitely not fit inside the stock CDTV case and the only time I have seen one used on a CDTV looked horrible with a ugly case modification.

Hi,

@Amigadave,

I had a 68010 way back in 1987, 1988, in my A1000, had no trouble running anything, but there may have been trouble running some Electronic Farts games. I can't really remember, anyhow electronic fart was one of the reasons that I started pirating copy protected software. Never did pirate any non protected software. I figured if I pays my money I should be able to have backups of what I bought.
