If you use WinUAE (exclusively, you have no Amiga hardware) what do you use WinUAE for?

Hi,

I use it basically to save my Amiga Hardware, I have all my disk database's on their, all my manual database's and my home inventory database on the Amiga. I use WinUAE  to check and look for stuff in the databases, I also use it to input stuff into the database, the only thing I use a regular Amiga for is to transfer the stuff from my WinUAE  database's to the Amiga, usually by floppy.

I also use WinUAE for playing games and trying out other or new programs. I am one of the lucky ones where I can also use a new Lexmark or HP printer with my WinUAE, my old Amiga doesn't even see it since they are USB printers.

One of the nice things about WinUAE is that I can use USB thumb drives and USB items. I can also boot up in CD-32 mode or just about any mode, operating system I want, I can listen to my music library (modern day mp3) or mods. I also can view my picture library.

I use Ibrowse for surfing the net, mostly Amiga sites, to tell you the truth, it is like having a modern up to date Amiga for only the price of Cloanto's Amiga Forever. For the price (and I don't care what any of you Amiga Fan boy religious Hippocrates's say (my original Amiga 1000 was down in the 4 number zone) I am an Amiga user and I say Cloanto's Amiga Forever has done right by me. It is a very up to date, super fast system, and I likes it and it was very in expensive.  What more can you ask for?

Hi,

@Franko,

My Amiga 4000 sits right next to my PC that runs WinUAE, I use WinUAE more today because I really would like to save the old Miggy for down the road, I use it about two to three times a week. Now I also have an A1200 in a tower that sits on the floor, I use this quite often, (A1200 are still relatively cheap and finding one is usually no problem). Probably before I expire (hopefully before the A4000) I will probably put it up for auction on ebay. Why don't I use it, well basically she is rather old, can't surf the web, and the only thing she is good for is playing games and storing my data, which she does quite well since I have lost no data since I bought her. Can't see making her work anymore because I have a cheap and replaceable PC to do that.

PS At least I ain't like the other beggars who have switched to a MAC. (UGH!)
