Problems with 4000/030 motherboard
« on: December 09, 2004, 08:14:44 AM »
Just recently I rediscovered my Amiga 4000/030. Once I set him up once again, I found out that he doesn't work anymore.

A quick scan revealed the problem: the battery from the onboard clock lost some fluid. It looks just like a battery loosing it's fluid with all those little salty substance on a battery - you know.

So, the amiga won't start anymore and I really really don't know what to do.
He gets power (the lights go on), but the kickstart won't work.
How can I get him to work again ?
Perhaps by rewiring the interiors so the area with the white battery crust isn't used anymore ?

Any help would be appreciated.
