The best way would be to find some practical use for the waste. If nothing else, we could build RTGs to power sattelites. :-)
Burying the waste is the easiest sollution, but it would have to be buried deep into seismoligically inactive bedrock, and that won't be cheap.
Anyway, the cheapest way of dealing with the power crisis is to lower power usage, not to find new power sources.
