Hi,
You can also get these with pins (so you continue to use the short 44-way IDE cable and plug that straight in). I just bought a couple here with the intention of using them with an Amiga and an Acorn Archimedes. Both previously had (now-dead!) 2.5" drives connected via short cables.
Both the pins and the type shown above should be available for the same price. The ones I got were NZ$7 each (less than GBP 3.00)
