Hi,
You might be interested in
WHDLoad - this is an application that'll allow you to make floppy-based games installable and runnable from your hard drive.
Replacing the old 200Mb hard drive is an easy job - and older PC laptop drives make good Amiga drives!
You can network an A1200 with a PCMCIA-based network card and drivers from Aminet for
3com cards and
other cards, but these need to be genuine 16-bit PCMCIA cards and not the newer 32-bit PC Card ones.
DD floppies are the easiest and cheapest way to do small file transfers.
Or, if you have a PCMCIA to CompactFlash adaptor and a spare CF card, this is another relatively painless way to do the transfers, see
this thread for details.
Finally, welcome back to the world of Amiga and A.Org!
