Hehe! Had to laugh when I read that bit, I think we've all done something similar in our youth!  :-)

Hi,

You might be interested in WHDLoad - this is an application that'll allow you to make floppy-based games installable and runnable from your hard drive.

Replacing the old 200Mb hard drive is an easy job - and older PC laptop drives make good Amiga drives!

You can network an A1200 with a PCMCIA-based network card and drivers from Aminet for 3com cards and other cards, but these need to be genuine 16-bit PCMCIA cards and not the newer 32-bit PC Card ones.

DD floppies are the easiest and cheapest way to do small file transfers.

Or, if you have a PCMCIA to CompactFlash adaptor and a spare CF card, this is another relatively painless way to do the transfers, see this thread for details.

Finally, welcome back to the world of Amiga and A.Org!

Hi,

AmigaKit sells one, or you could use a generic wireless bridge.

More like AmigaKit world domination! But that's OK I guess!  :-)

@Floob: I agree with amije - surfing on the Amiga - it's OK, but a bit like using the Internet ten years ago in some ways!!! Unless you have a fast machine with graphics card, it can be very painful. Even then, the likes of AWeb unfortunately just can't compete with the likes of Firefox...
