I love the idea; just wish that a company would produce joysticks with Amiga and Speccy hardware.

Amiga hardware might be out of reach due to the cost of re-engineering, but Speccy hardware should easily be possible and I too would love to see one of those - especially if it's done in the same style as the C64 DTV and is hackable!

Amstrad, the current owner of the Spectrum design, currently produces a range of Internet-capable phones (UK only) as well as a colour video phone. Amusingly enough, these have ZX Spectrum compatibility built in. Not sure if this is done in hardware or through emulation.

A brief review is here: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2004/09/15/amstrad_e3_launch (and more info is on http://www.amstrad.co.uk).

In any case, the Spectrum's hardware is so simple when compared to the likes of the C64, it should be a relatively easy thing to re-engineer...

Here's hoping!
