Yeah, thats just what we need, more AMOS programs refusing to run under RTG, with poor support for modern Amigas.

AMOS' time has passed. It was a very nice syhstem for beginners to write games with, but it belongs in the past. Sure, a new AMOS written from scratch that encompassed all that is good about modern Amigas would be fantastic, but I really think the "old" AMOS should be left to die.

I disagree. You cannot kill something so wonderfull.

But serious, the new Amos path will succeed. Trust me.

Wonderful? It was quite a nice game-orientated BASIC. It was a case of the right idea introduced at the right time.

"new Amos path"? Continuing development on AMOS is a bad idea. A new game-orientated BASIC written from scratch would be a much better idea, and probably easier to do that bring Amos up to date.

Hey Tickly, don't forget that Blitz Basic 2 is updated on a regular basis!

Which is great, but as an experienced assembler and C coder, of no real interest to me :)
I do think that the Amiga needs an up-to-date BASIC compiler for beginners though. Blitz Basic was horrible, imho :)
