You need an A500 kickstart file, and you need to get SKick from aminet as well (it contains relocation tables for a bunch of kickstarts).

Even if the game works fine normally, if the WHDLoad installer has been written in such a way that it sets up a "virtual" kickstart 1.3 machine, WHDLoad needs the kickstart image.

I don't know why the slave author chose to do that, but he did, so you need a Kickstart 1.3 image in Devs:Kickstarts/

Most WHDLoad installers don't need it, but some do.

You don't need to boot UAE with the 1.3 kickstart; WHDLoad will load and relocate a 1.3 kickstart when you run the game.

Most WHDLoad installs only work with the original disks. Most ADFs on the net are cracks. Some installers have been updated to support the legalised cracks from back2roots.org, but in general WHDLoad installs only install the original, uncracked versions. This is A) because the installer slave author cannot be expected to support all the different cracks out there and B) WHDLoad is not a tool for piracy.

imho using whdload for emus is plain stupid.

Not if you want to be able to run your games from inside WinUAE, rather than selecting ADF.

whdload is for the rEAL amigas to work when our machines are too heavyly expanded.

That is one of its uses, yes.

and most of all "it uses orginals , and how do u install orginals on a pc without an amiga floppydrive???? .... "

WinUAE supports the catweasle PCI card. Also, you can WHDLoad install it on a real Amiga, then transfer the installed game to the PC.

... blah blah blah ...
roms and how, and all installers say in the readme if the darn slave needs it or NOT)

Calm down! Theres no need to be so hostile.

anyway welcome as an whdload user, but remebr this is ment to be for REAL amiga's not emus ..,

Its meant for everybody.

the only good thing u can do with whdload at a emu atm is grabbing snapshots much more easier unlike on our real AMIGA's.

Eh? :-? How is it any easier to grab screenshots in UAE with a WHDLoaded game than an ADF loaded game? its exactly the same!

have fun and dont diss the whdload as there is no reason to at all, its wonderfull

He's entitled to his opinion. WHDLoad is a fantastic thing, and I use it to play games on my A4000 and A1500, but setting up some installs is a tricky business, and can be confusing. Give the guy a break!

I guess it means just that; the version of citadel you have isn't supported. Is it a crack?

The problem is, just because a software company has given the go ahead for back2roots.org to spread a given game, it doesn't mean that back2roots.org necessarily host the original version. A lot of original games can't even be put into an ADF file because of their copy protection, or sometimes the original game just isn't available to dump, so a crack ends up on back2roots.org.

Occasionally a WHDLoad installer gets updated to support the back2roots edition, but not always.
