No. Your options are basically null modem cable, parnet cable, or ethernet.

The modems won't help unless you have two phonelines and don't mind paying for your network by the minute

Well, OK but the unecessary analogue modulation and demodulation would make it slower than a null modem cable, so why bother? :-D
