From my use of Miami and Genesis I find that Genesis is much faster than Miami and uses less memory.
It's easy enough to setup and is included with AmigaOS 3.9.
Samba isn't hard to get running on the Amiga if you only want to access Windows shares, you only need the program
smbfs . Remember to increase the stack a bit before running it though, otherwise it might be crashy!
