Try using Kickstart / Workbench 2.04. Some Amiga 2000 HD disk drives will not work with Amiga OS 3.X. I have had two such drives. I sold them and went back to using 880 drives. I am now stocking up on DS/DD disks and Teac and Chinon disk drives. I suggest you do the same.
