I used a 2320 from my A2000 in my A4000 once, needed to same reason you do, monitor died and only had a vga standing around.

It worked for me, but all AGA modes had reduced colors. Games (OCS and ECS) worked fine, AGA looked silly.

You won't get much use of DPaint etc for instance.

But as a last resolve, it should work.

DPaint works, but the A2320 can't display all colors of the AGA chipset. So AGA pictures with color fades look jagged.
Everything works, just not everything looks good!
