Speaking of which....

Is there any demand for "modded" power supplies that fit an Amiga 4000 case? I've found a moderately inexpensive supply of "new" 250W AT power supplies and a supply of "plungers" so they literally stick right into your old A4000 PS and function exactly the same (the front power rod attaches to the plunger).

If I knew 4 or 5 people wanted them, I'd bother with it. But otherwise, it would be yet another $200+ science project on my workbench that ends up collecting dust. :-)

I think there's probably a good market for such a beastie.  If it cost say $30.00 or so, I think people would buy them.  Replacement A4000 supplies cost $50.00+ for used units and they are only 145W or so.  Even if you didn't want to make the investment, if you could do a schematic or 'how to' guide on converting an AT to 4000 p/s, I for one would be thankful.  btw, I can't believe anyone would pay $50.00 for an ATX to 4000 adaptor like on eBay.

Yeah, I think this is what I'm going to do.

(You should price out new AT power supplies, they're retardedly expensive compared to ATX pses. I think I might try to see what I can do with an ATX ps and share that info instead. A new 250W mATX ps can be bought for about $15.00 and it's small enough that it will fit just about any Amiga power supply.)

As it is right now, I'm building a new AT replacement PS for my 3000T (it fits inside the 3000T PS case), I just need to be sure the thing is wired correctly before I actually try it... Plus, I will also build a couple for my 4000 desktops (I have 4 dead 4000 PSes here). When I get this completed I will make a nice little diagram, complete with part numbers, cable lengths, etc so people can build them themselves for the 4000 or 3000T. The nice thing about using an AT power supply is it doesn't require any alteration to make it actually turn on (unlike ATX ones).

I'll get back to you on this later.
