Well, I usually prefer very clean and simple desktops.

My XP workstation (and gaming station)
XP Desktop Pic 1 (Full Size)
XP Desktop Pic 1 (Half Size)
XP Desktop Pic 2 (Full Size)
XP Desktop Pic 2 (Half Size)

My Amiga 4000 (my heartfelt favorite Amiga, and the only one I really use on anything near a regular basis)
Amiga Workbench Pic (Full Size)
Amiga Workbench Pic (Half Size)

I just downloaded StyleXP to see some new desktops, I saw somebody else on this thread was using it. I never should have downloaded that crap- it installed 30+ spyware in Windows. Beware.

Yep...  All you need is the XPStyle.dll or something like that.  (Don't quote me on the name, but it's a single DLL that will let you choose any style in your desktop settings, instead of only signed MS ones.)  It was a real bugger to swap out that single DLL, though, as Windows detects the DLL change, and wants to put it's signed version back.  Why can't Windows be this protective when Spyware tries to replace files??  Even just a yes/no prompt would be nice.  (Grumble, grumble...  Stupid Microsoft.)

it's to protect kids randomly mashing the keyboard and "deleting" the windows folder

Well, yeah... But, obviously, the detection routine is there...  Why don't they use it to warn against Spyware?  Or to Codecs that get hosed by an idiotic install script?  To me, these are two things that are much more likely to happen than someone going in and hap-hazardly changing/altering/deleting DLLs manually.  (which was why I tangented on a "stupid Microsoft" rant.)
