Hmm... a 68-pin SCSI drive... It may be a LVD or "differential" SCSI? I've heard stories (I've never owned one to confirm) that these aren't exactly compatible to spec, always.... Perhaps this is what you're running into? A functional drive that is expecting an interface other than the one it's being presented?
