Kinda taking a guess, but I think you'll need a 68040.library file on the boot floppy, in the LIBS folder.  Also, again a guess here, I'm faily certain the base OS cannot see beyond 4GB on the boot partition, thus the partition on your drive already under the 4GB limit.  Once the OS is up and running with all patches, larger partitions should be recognized.

Thankyou! I forgot about that. It is best to partition your boot or system or whatever you call it to around 500MB. That is what I read on this forum or on Aminet. You can actually partition it to 2G. As soon as the new FastFileSystem of 3.9 is copied it should recongize larger depending on your controller. I had issues with that too.

I've heard conflicting stories on that too.  I've read 2GB is the boot partition limit, but I've had no problem with up to 4GB on certain hard drives.  I've never had a drive bigger than 4GB in an Amiga to confirm how that all worked.
