How do you install Picasso96?
« on: August 31, 2006, 06:44:44 AM »
I downloaded Picasso96 off aminet, installed it, selected the PicassoII (well it was already selected for me automatically), chose my monitor settings.. but when I boot or try to run devs:monitors/picassoii , it says:

Picasso96: Could not create graphics board context for 'picassoii',
please check your Picasso96 installation!

This has baffled me. I'm playing with p96settings and I cant work out how to use it. All the screen ids are there. I'm not familiar with this program at all.

-EDIT: In the picasso96mode, all thats in the "Attach settings to" menu is "No board"

I've got a Commodore 1942 monitor, which has the following specs according to amiga-hardware.com:

Sync Frequency:
15.6-15.8 kHz and 27.3-31.5 kHz Horizontal
47 Hz to 75 Hz Vertical

I've been selecting 31kHz as the horiztonal scan rates my monitor can handle.. I wonder if thats been causing hiccups..

Also, I wonder if my Picasso2 is faulty. It shows up in showconfig, and I've connected the RGB port to the Picasso2's passthrough, and the 1942 to the Picasso2.. it just seems strange that it wont work.

I'm going to try 35kHz as the max horizontal scan rate, and I will quickly switch the monitor off if it doesnt like it..

I tried that newer Picasso96 v2.1b , thanks, but it didnt make any difference.
