No zorro cards recognized on amiga4000
« on: November 11, 2007, 09:22:31 PM »
I had to remove the socket for the buster chip off my amiga 4000 as it was very unstabile.
I soldered the buster directly to the mobo, quite an adventure.
Only two legs broken which I fixed with a string off wire.
It booted up nicely (which in the socket I had to push down firmly to boot).
But no zorro cards are being recognized and offcourse with it the mediator.
I am already looking for a replacement mobo but is there somewhere a scheme at which I can make out which pinouts from the buster chip go to where?
Just a last effort to get it going.

No won't repair this one anywhere.
It already has sound problems(mono) and the not being recognized off zorro already was a problem before I started the operation.
So all together it's not worth the effort.

Well the U403 I already removed in the past.
I crossed two resistors to cross this missing chip.
That worked allright until now.
Guess the ic before has died it has sound but just mono and I checked the connections several times..ok.
But I made a mess on the buster.
Still keeping the mobo for now as it still runs ok for the rest and is a nice testmachine.
