protected cd and secondspin
« on: June 25, 2005, 02:32:03 PM »
So I have me a music cd and tried to play it in the hifi system no problem.
But I wanted to make mp3 files out of it so I could also play it on my computer.
Normally secondspin recognizes the cd automatically through the net but this one not!
It does see a audio cd but not the right one.
Also the tracks are all the same (about 10s)and there is I believe one big file.
So encooding is not possibble here.
On the workbench it appears as a cdda and as a data file.
The data contains a player for pc I believe.
There is also a label on the cd saying bmg-copycontrol.
Any way to still convert these tracks to the amiga?
Not with help of a pc off course

Ok when I insert this protected cd I get me the cdda and the other partition (audio:).
When I double click it it doesn't play but when I inset a normal cd it does and after playing an other audio cd it does play the protected audio cd.
Second spin does recognize the right tracklengths then.
But it doesn't recognize the ttitle.
Also the leeching and decoding only takes place for about 10 s of music per track.
Using cacheCDFS here.
Is there a way to hardcopy the tracks to HD as AIFFS?
If that would help that is or should I try an other cd filesystem?
