CDROM issue
« on: November 20, 2009, 06:13:54 AM »
I have a A200/030 that has a CDRom drive installed. The previous install (OS3.5) had the CDROM drive functioning correctly. (Auto mount, insert a CD and the CD disc icon would show up on the workbench). Due to some corrupted files, I have had to re-format the System: partition. Once complete, I re-formatted and installed OS 3.1 from floppy's.

I have the CD0 dirver in the dev/DOSDrivers drawer as well as CDXL in the dev/datatypes drawer.

Now, when I boot OS 3.1 with the above drivers in place, I cannot get workbench to bring up a CD Disc icon so I can access the CDROM.

Any idea's? I'm trying to get the CDROM drive working again so I can install OS 3.5 (and then OS 3.9).

You are correct. I have a A2000/030. When booting and holding down the two mouse buttons, I get the early startup control screen. From there I select boot options but my CDROM drive does not show up as a bootable device.

I guess I'm going to have to figure out how to get CDFS installed first. My only problem is the two PC's that I own do not have PC floppy drives....

I'm a bit confused. I thought he had an A2000. He's talking about an A200/030. If he means he has an A2000/030, than he probably won't need idefix. Probably he would just have to change the device and unit number. If he means he has an A1200/030 then yes, you need idefix.
