PT-1210 Mk1 Protracker Turntable Software for Amiga

Does this software require the Amigas to be linked via nullmodem/parnet cables?

The thumbnail of the video says it all: beatmatching skills not included

 Been trying to find info on how to use it, but details/info is very sketchy.  

There's nothing sketchy about the info, it's all in the README included in the archive. A more detailed PDF manual will come soon as I manage to finish it.

Vingtrois, please don't hotlink directly to the download, so people can at least read the website and get an idea of what is going on and download the module packs if they want.

Can't get it to work on my Amiga 1200 with Blizzard 1260. Just locks up when I open it. Has ClassicWB on it if it matters.

Did you load straight to it or did you execute it from Workbench?
I don't check a.org that much really so if you can send us an email to pt1210@kikencorp.com with more details i'd really appreciate it.
The software is supposed to be run independently and not from Workbench, if you did load it from WB, try again loading straight from it. If you loaded straight to it, we'll check it out, although it'd be hard to test as we don't have an 060 for dev purposes

Well "sketchy" means shady or conspicuous, I'd say you mean "slightly lacking" because there's nothing dangerous about PT-1210 .
The requirements may not have been clear and I can correct that on the web, but basically it is because you don't need anything but an Amiga. Why did you think a parallel cable was needed if it wasn't mentioned anywhere?

Yeah that would be useful, brilliant news too.  Maybe because I always needed one when linking two Amigas for music (Octamed etc.) back in the day.  But nice to hear that, will give it a download this week.

Yeah but there's never been any linking whatsoever implied in anything we said, so I find it odd. Some people have asked for some sort of sync possibility, but we don't want to have that.



QuillOmega0: a friend of us just tested the software on his Cyberstorm MK3 060@66 and it worked just fine. If you get back to us with more info we can probably narrow down your problem.

I had some problems starting the software on NTSC A1200.
I found out that I need to boot into PAL mode and then select PAL screenmode from WB PREFS to get it working (before starting the SW).

Hmm, strange, worth a check, but possible. We live in Europe and have PAL Amigas.
Please, I said this before: DON'T START IT FROM WORKBENCH. You're not supposed to. Who knows what patches/tweaks/whatever you have that might or might not conflict with the software. If you are setting screenmodes with Prefs, you booted Workbench and, therefore, are doing it wrong.

Everybody running clean into PT-1210 is not having any problems.

Also, you need to have some MOD files in the same DIR as the executable.

Yes, it is in the readme, that you need to have modules otherwise the software won't start.

But actually, if PT-1210 is in the path (like, in C: ) and your current directory has mod files, you invoke it and it will run reading those mod files.

You reminded me that the ADF version comes with no README in the archive (it has the readme in the ADF though, quit PT1210 and it will be displayed), so I updated the archive with it and it's available on the website.

It might be that, Amiman did report problems on NTSC. but I have successful reports from PAL Amigas on 060s.

So I am adding to the list of stuff we gotta check, NTSC support.
Having in mind , what, 90% of software is made for PAL Amigas, I'm not too worried at the moment about supporting it, but it needs to be added to the documentation.

I know you dont post here much but i'm really trying to get some usage out of your software. Is NTSC support still planned? This would really bring more users as the PAl thing is a PITA on NTSC amigas.

Also really need is the docs in .pdf format as stated on the site "coming soon" a couple of tutorials would be coool.

To anyone who hasnt tried this and likes electronic music its a MUST one of the coolest amiga apps ever!

yeah, we've been out of the loop for a while. All these things are still on our bucket list. We will get to them as soon as we can dedicate some more time to further develop PT-1210!
