Hello,
If you intend not to upgrade your A1200 with a busboard or a 68040+ accelerator, you should stay with the original desktop that has a small footprint and will give you a real Amiga feeling. I have an Apollo card with a 68030 at 40Mhz in my A1200D and I  have never experienced heating problems. As suggested, you should consider upgrading your 1200 with a flickerfixer (internal or external) in order to be able to hook up a standard SVGA monitor and play native display games on it. Otherwise, you would have to bother with an old 15kHz monitor...
