A4K scsi.device 43.43 Hangs
« on: January 26, 2007, 01:19:14 AM »
Hi!.

I try to install a second new ide 80GB Seagate hd in my A4000.

I own a UWSCSI HD attached in my CSPPC with SFS 1265 working OK.

This happends: :-?

HDtoolbox, create partition ( i try >4Gb and <4GB with the same result)
Install SFS in RDB, save changes and reboot.

The led of the IDE HD is hold on and the computer freezes.
Switch OFF, when i boot again i can see after setpatch reset the computer freezes again the led is hold ON. :madashell:

I need to switch OFF again and hold two mouse buttons, edit the startup-sequence to skip the scsi.device update for get the system working again.

I try with the old rom update of plain OS3.9 scsi.device version 43.35 and i can create disk partitions and appear to be OK.

Any suggestions, is the scsi.43.43 buggy??

Another cuestion, is possible to get working >4GB partitions with the original 40.12 scsi.device and SFS in direct scsi mode.
The SFS docs says it detect an old device no NSD or TD64 compatible and switch to SCSIDIRECT mode i not understand this work.

Any help are very appreciated.

Ciaa

Heey many thanks for your help. ;-)

At the moment i use the old 43.35 device in conjuntion of the rest of patches in the BB2.

I charge the combination in my eFLASH, and all test are OK.
I was made several partitions >4GB and no problem at all.

This appear to be an conflict between V43.43 scsi device and this model of HD.

Ciaaa.
