Are you using the Aminet driver for the ata flash? iirc, you need to not only install the dosdriver but also the windows compatible fat-32 filesystem along with it (because the pcmcia flash drive is really a pc harddisk). As for the 3Com card, there is a hardware fault in the A1200 with the pcmcia reset. There are a couple utilities you need to install in either startup-sequence or user-startup called CardReset or somesuch (should be in the readme file with the driver). Once you have the driver installed properly, you can then see if it is activated by typing in the device driver and unit id in a program like Miami (which should tell you if the device works or not).
