You need to use caution if you're going to use either of those programs. They haven't seen development since FFS was updated. (They won't work well with anything over 4Gb in size, and they'll likely fail on partitions over 2Gb in size.)

Doesn't SFS come with anything for this? I know it comes with a defrag util.

@Everybody:

Please, stop recommending DiskSalv. Depending on where this error is located on his drive, there's a good chance he'll wind up losing data.

Here's an article on going beyond 4Gb.

While I've never made a backup before, I do have a 40Gb drive that connects to my USB card that I can use if I need to.
